Gift receipts, pro forma and other documents

Gift receipts, delivery notes, returns forms, order confirmations, pro forma and commercial invoices, address labels.

Besides invoices, credit notes, packing slips and quotes, InvoiceHop prints these documents from any order. They're built from the order as it is now, never count toward your plan and carry no e-invoice data.

DocumentWhat it's for
Gift receiptThe items without prices, with the order note printed as the gift message. Only the delivery address is shown, never who paid.
Delivery noteThe items with a Received box per line, and lines for the name, date and signature of whoever receives the parcel.
Returns formThe items with boxes for how many come back and a reason code, your return address and your return instructions.
Order confirmationThe order with prices and VAT, before it's invoiced. It has no number of its own.
Pro forma invoiceA priced offer for the order, with its own number (PF-2026-00001). The number is kept: printing it again shows the same one. It says clearly that it isn't an invoice.
Commercial invoiceFor parcels going through customs: HS codes, countries of origin and weights per line, Incoterms, reason for export, your EORI number, a declaration and a signature line. On Pro and Pro Plus.
Address labelsThe shipping address of each order on a label sheet (A4, US Letter or 4 × 6 in thermal).

Printing them

  • On Shopify's order page or order list: Print → InvoiceHop, then tick the documents you want.
  • On an invoice's page in InvoiceHop: open the Print menu.
  • In Shopify POS: open the order, tap Invoice, then print a gift receipt, packing slip or returns form.
  • For a quote: Download pro forma on the quote's page.

One per shipment

Packing slips, gift receipts, delivery notes and returns forms can cover the whole order, one shipment at a time (Shipment 1 / 2), or only the items still to ship. Choose under Items when printing from Shopify's order pages.

Settings

In Settings → Other documents: the pro forma prefix, your return address and instructions, the customs defaults (Incoterms, reason for export, EORI number, declaration) and the size of your label sheets. HS codes, countries of origin and weights come from each product in Shopify (Products → a product → Shipping).

Extra details on your documents

  • Cart attributes: details other apps add to the cart (a delivery date or pickup location from Zapiet, for example) print under the totals. You can leave some out, and tell InvoiceHop which attribute holds the PO number (SparkLayer and other B2B apps).
  • Metafields (Pro and Pro Plus): pick product, variant, order or customer metafields. Product and variant ones print under each line.
  • Product names in the customer's language (Pro and Pro Plus): uses the translations saved in Shopify by Translate & Adapt, Langify and similar apps.

Editing a draft invoice

Before an invoice is issued, Edit draft on its page lets you rename products and add a note. Quantities and prices always follow the Shopify order, so credit notes stay correct: to change them, edit the order in Shopify and the draft follows. Once issued, an invoice can't change.
