Payment reminders and statements

Chase unpaid invoices by email, and send customers a statement of what they owe. Pro and Pro Plus.

For invoices that are issued but not paid yet (orders with payment terms, bank transfers, manual payments), InvoiceHop can remind your customers and show them everything they still owe.

Automatic reminders

  1. Go to Settings → Payment reminders.
  2. Turn on Send payment reminders automatically.
  3. Choose when: before the due date, on the day, and/or after it (up to 30 days).
  4. Keep the standard message, or write your own with placeholders such as {number}, {total} and {due_date}.

Each reminder carries the invoice PDF and a link to pay on the order page. Before sending, InvoiceHop checks the order in Shopify: once it's paid or cancelled, no more reminders go out. Every reminder sent is shown in the invoice's timeline.

One reminder by hand

On an unpaid invoice's page, open More actions → Send payment reminder.

Statement of account

On any issued invoice, More actions → Statement of account (PDF) lists every open invoice of that customer (the company for business buyers) in the same currency: issue and due dates, days overdue, the amount and what's still to pay, with your bank details. Email statement of account sends it to the customer.

Good to know

  • Reminders go out through your own SMTP server when it's set up, otherwise through InvoiceHop's sender, with replies coming back to you.
  • Turning reminders on doesn't chase old invoices: only invoices within the schedule you chose get one.
  • InvoiceHop never changes the payment status of your orders.
