Shopify POS

Invoices for in-store sales: print, email or issue them from the POS app.

Sales rung up in Shopify POS are Shopify orders like any other: InvoiceHop invoices them automatically, with the same numbering, templates and credit notes as your online orders. Nothing to set up for that.

Turn on the POS button

In your Shopify admin, open the Point of Sale settings and the Apps for Point of Sale list. Under InvoiceHop, activate Print and email invoices.

Where staff find it

An Invoice button appears in the action menu of two screens:

  • After a sale: on the sale complete screen.
  • On a past order: open it from Orders, then its action menu.

What staff can do

  • Print invoice: opens the print dialog of the device, for any connected printer.
  • Send invoice: emails it to the customer. The address is filled in from the order and can be changed. Needs invoice emails on in Settings → Invoice emails.
  • Issue invoice now: when the invoice isn't issued yet (for example, you issue on fulfillment), staff can issue it at the counter.
  • Business customer: before issuing, add the buyer's company name, VAT number, company ID and PO number so they're printed on the invoice. Once issued, changes go through Credit and re-issue in the app.

Good to know

  • Thermal, Kiosk and Till are made for 80 mm receipt printers. Pick one in Templates if you print invoices at the counter.
  • Staff need access to InvoiceHop in their POS role's app permissions. Without it, the button shows "Couldn't load the invoice".
